The Beginning of a Blog called Fourteen Six!

With some help from friends, I have decided to call this blog "Fourteen Six," after the chapter and verse in the Gospel of John. Jesus said there that He is "The Way." There is no other. He alone is the path, the road, The Way! So, I will begin this blog called Fourteen Six as a means by which folks can get a glimpse into the mind and heart of the pastor of Compass Point Church.

Trying to decide what would be a good start for a new blog is not a small task. I have glanced at a few blogs of others and found that they typically consist of the blogger's latest thoughts about any number of topics.

Part of the challenge for me is in trying to comprehend that anyone would really care what I think about things. Putting that aside, I am hopeful that my posts might somehow help someone in the journey of faith, or at the very least, get to know me better.

So, while I begin this blog with a certain amount of anxiety and uncertainty as to what it might be, I am confident of this: it will be a place for me to journal some of my journey and my inner struggles as I have wrestled with life and the circumstances that life brings. I have had seasons of life when I have felt close to God and able to easily find “the Way” in so many circumstances and happenings in my life. And then there have been other times when I felt distant and like I was wandering around almost aimlessly.

Perhaps God can use my writings to help a fellow traveler who is moving along a similar journey to not have such a hard go of it as a result. I guess time will tell.
